Self Service Extension Management

The IPsmarx IP-PBX Platform offers the ability for clients and administrators to define their own extensions using our user friendly web interface, eliminating the need to call a technician each time an extension is added or changed.

Extension Group Management

With this feature, administrators are able to define extension groups for specific departments. For example, they may define a group of 10 extensions as a sales team. Then, when an inbound call is received, the caller will either have the option to “press 1 for sales” and all 10 sales group extensions will ring at the same time until one person picks up. This is also conveniently managed through or web interface with no intervention needed by a technician.

Voicemail

IPsmarx Class 5 server provides all the functionality required to deploy a full featured voice messaging solution to all enterprise, SOHO, and residential users. IPsmarx Voicemail interface is user-friendly and includes a Web interface to manage settings and mailboxes.

Voicemail to Email & Unified Messaging

With Voicemail to Email, end users can retrieve their voicemails through email, making it even more convenient to use VoIP for their business calls.

Auto Attendant

Creating auto attendants for each company is easy with IPsmarx’ user friendly web interface. Administrators of each company can set up their own auto attendant to announce the company name and list departments by extension. For example, it may say, “Thank you for calling 123VOIP, for sales press 1, for customer service press 2.”

DID Assignment

The IPsmarx Multi-Tenant IP-PBX Platform enables administrators to assign multiple DID’s to each company. Each extension can also have it’s own complete phone number or “direct dial.”

Quick Tip Companies with international clientele may assign multiple phone numbers to each extension. For example, a sales person in the US may have a US, UK, and Mexico number forwarded to their phone, making it easy and affordable for international clients to reach them.

Find Me Follow Me

With the growing number of people working from home or on the road, this feature enables end users to define an array of phone numbers where they can be reached so that they can receive business calls while they are away from their desk. For example, an employee may have their calls forwarded to their home, remote office, or cell phone so they don’t miss an important call. End users can easily set up their list of numbers themselves using the customer web portal with no intervention needed from the administrator or a technician.

Music on hold

This feature allows service providers to play music, advertisements, or custom messages when calls are on hold.

Auto Attendant Bypass

For added convenience, administrators can define a list of phone numbers of incoming callers that will be recognized by the system and automatically forwarded to the appropriate extension, without the caller having to listen to the auto attendant or dial an extension.

Call Parking

This feature allows end users to forward calls to a “parking lot” to be picked up by any other phone in the company.

Caller ID

The IPsmarx Caller ID feature supports Caller ID by name and number. Administrators can assign names to specific phone numbers so that end users are able to see the company or individual’s name and phone number when they receive a call.

Call Forwarding

This module enables customers to have calls forwarded to another number or branch extension. Calls can be forwarded under a specific condition, such as when an extension is busy or when calls are not answered. For example, if customers are expecting a call while they are out of the office, they can forward their calls to their cell phone.

Call Waiting

This feature allows customers to receive a second call while they are already using the phone line. They can put the current call on hold and answer another incoming call. They have the option to go back to the previous call whenever they like.

Call Transfer

This feature allows calls to be transferred from one extension to another within a company. Because end users are taking advantage of VoIP, calls can be transferred to any IP phone within the company regardless of the location. This is particularly beneficial for companies with multiple locations who still need to transfer calls within the company and will also result in huge cost savings since calls between IP-IP extensions are free.

3 way calling

The VoIP Class 5 server offers conferencing services for businesses and residential customers. This feature is available to any SIP customer including SIP IP Phones and SIP PC2Phones.

7-Digit Dialing

The IPsmarx 7-Digit Dialing feature allows end users to dial a phone number without having to enter the country/state/province code. Administrators can use the web interface to predefine phone numbers according to their location. For example, instead of dialing (703) 779-2055, users would be able to call that number by dialing 779-2055.

4-Digit Dialing

The IPsmarx 4-Digit Dialing feature allows end users to dial a phone number without having to enter the country/state/province code and the local area number. Administrators can use the web interface to predefine phone numbers based on the local area. For example, instead of dialing (703) 779-2055, users would be able to call that number simply by dialing 2055.

Call Pickup

This feature enables end users to pick up an extension that is not their own by dialing a command and the extension number.

Extension Range Flexibility

With the IPsmarx IP-PBX, each company’s administrator can set it’s own number of digits per extensions. For example, one company may have a 3 digit extension, while another company may have a 4 digit extension.

Flexible Auto Attendant Routing

With this convenient feature, administrators can route calls depending on their company’s schedule. For example, calls can be routed to the auto attendant during business hours and to an answering service over the weekend.

Direct Phone Number Assignment

With this feature, Administrators have the flexibility to define a direct phone number and an extension to each of their employees.

Remote Phone Support

With the IPsmarx IP-PBX end users can set up remote phones anywhere they have a high speed internet connection. This is ideal for offices that have multiple locations, especially multiple international locations, as extension to extension calls are free.

Auto Provisioning

SIP devices, such as IP phones and adapters are automatically configured using the Auto-Provisioning Module. IPsmarx Auto Provisioning simplifies the installation of a device by transferring the configuration requirements between the provisioning server and the IP phone automatically. The effortless IPsmarx Auto-Provisioning feature for Softswitch is an auto-installation system that consists of two basic functions: learning and setting the IP address and downloading the configuration file, including username and password, for the IP phone. When the IP phone is switched on, the phone connects with the provisioning server, where it is assigned a unique IP address. Some of the popular brands supported by IPsmarx Auto Provisioning include Cisco, Grandstream, Linksys, and Polycom. 

Note: This feature is only available with Yealink, Snom, Polycom, Cisco, Grandstream, and Linksys brand devices and phones.

Dial by name directory

Dial by name directory allows clients to reach direct extensions of the people within a business. DLN is very useful because very often callers will know the name of the person they are trying to reach but may not know their extension. Dial By Name directory names can be recorded from any extension within a tenant account by using a star(*) function.

Invoicing

With this flexible invoicing module, carriers can send bills manually or automatically, define the frequency of each bill, and export the invoice to PDF format, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft Word. The IPsmarx invoice formatting tool allows adminstrators to customize the format of their invoices and with unified invoicing, all services that are offered through the IPsmarx platform can be listed on one invoice.

Package Billing

With this feature, carriers can create monthly calling plans and define unlimited minutes or a determined amount of free minutes to specific pre-defined destinations. For example, a carrier may offer a flat fee for a specific number of ports per month.

E-store

The IPsmarx E-store module is an E-Commerce Solution that is fully integrated with our billing platform. Configuration with a supported merchant account is also included in this module. Using the E-store, you can offer fully automated sign up and online payment for your customers as well as a user portal with access to payment history, call detail records, and account recharge. Design of the front end of the E-store (your homepage) can be fully customized to your company and brand by a certified web designer.

Fax Support

Our IP-PBX Solution will support fax pass through with T38 protocol.

E-911 Emergency Service

This feature allows IPsmarx customers to support emergency services E-911. Calls to emergency numbers are located by integrating with a third party E-911 Service Provider that will collect all the customers’ information and answer all 911 calls at its own call center. Then, the call center forwards the call to the right emergency service provider.

Enterprise Features

In addition to our standard IP-PBX features, the following enterprise features are also available. These features were designed to enable VoIP Service Providers to meet the demands of larger enterprises.

 

Extension Monitoring

With this feature, employees can see who else is on the phone. For example, if a receptionist wants to transfer a call, they can easily see who is available to take the call.

Note: This feature is only available with SNOM and Yealink brand phones.
 

Call Screening

This feature allows the IVR (Interactive Voice Response) to answer incoming calls and prompt the caller to announce their name. The recipient of the call can then decide to either accept or reject the call.

Caller ID Routing

Based on the caller ID of specific callers, calls can be routed to a pre-defined extension. For example, sales reps can define the phone numbers of their priority clients so that when they call they never have to dial an extension. Instead, their clients will dial the main number for the company, and calls will be automatically directed to their sales rep.

Line Sharing (Key System)

Traditional PBXs had a nice way to handle the "Status monitoring of company lines". Looking at your phone, you knew which line is in use, who is using it and you could even pick it up if it was on hold. Reporting Features

Integrated RADIUS-based Billing

Our internal RADIUS server for AAA (Accounting, Authorization, and Authentication) procedures guarantees optimal performance and outstanding billing functionality. This feature is compliant with RFC-2865 industry standard.

Minute Rounding & Fee Definition

Using this feature, administrators can establish optional extra fees and minute rounding.  For example, with a 30 by 6 resolution, the caller will be charged for the first 30 seconds regardless of the talk time.  In this scenario, after the first 30 seconds, the caller will be charged in 6 second increments. Administrators can also define fees, such as maintenance or connection fees.

Advanced Taxation System

With the IPsmarx Multi-Tenant IP-PBX solution, a third party taxation company is not required. All taxation can be managed in the same management interface. Administrators have the ability to establish multiple tax profiles and manage various taxes.

Flexible Payment Structure

Using our Flexible Payment Structure, administrators are able to manage payments including prepayments and security deposits, while extending credit at their discretion.

Unlimited Rate Table Support

With this feature, administrators benefit from the ability to set up unlimited selling and buying packages, increasing the number of end point carriers and customers they may interconnect with.

Security Logs

For enhanced security, the IPsmarx Multi-Tenant IP-PBX produces a report that shows logs for all unauthorized attempts on the platform.  Security features of the IP-PBX will reject any unauthorized login attempt; however a log will be available for system administrators to check the IP address of the unauthorized source.

Flexible CDR Reporting

The CDR, Call Detail Record, is an enhanced reporting tool which enables administrators to view call details, cost, profit, and duration of each call. This report is available per carrier or per customer.

Flexible ASR Report

The ASR, Average Success Rate, enables administrators to evaluate the quality of their termination providers.  The report measures call duration based on carriers, destination, and more. A percentage of the calls being terminated by the system can also be generated, which will aid in determining the quality of end-point carriers.

Flexible ACD Report

SIP Proxy with Topology Hiding

Signaling for SIP traffic is handled by the IPsmarx SIP proxy server.  Based on the proxy settings the server will choose which carrier the SIP device will use.  For enhanced security, it will also hide the IP addresses of the sender from the IP addresses of the receiver. This feature is also called Topology Hiding. IPsmarx SIP proxy server is SIP RFC 3261 compliant.

SIP & H323 Carrier Support

Our softswitch supports both SIP and H323 protocols, allowing carriers to interconnect with providers and customers regardless of their call control protocol. The correct port for each protocol can be assigned automatically. This can also be changed manually to any port requested by the end point carrier. Our H323 module supports Fast Start capability. Note: H323 support must be added to the softswitch as an add-on module.

Instant SIP & H323 Protocol Conversion

This feature enables the softswitch to link calls between VoIP providers using incompatible protocols. The softswitch views the incoming protocol being used and looks at the outgoing protocol being requested and then changes the protocols required without any disruption of call quality. Note: H323 support must be added to the softswitch as an add-on module.

Complete Codec Support
To increase interconnection opportunities for VoIP carriers, the IPsmarx softswitch supports all major codecs including G729, G723, G711a, G711u, h464, and h464 in pass-thru mode and via codec negotiation.  The IPsmarx platform also supports  DTMF according to  RFC2833. Since IPsmarx platform supports codec negotiatioan , there is no need for any codec settings at the client or carrier side and this feature makes IPsmarx platform even easier to manage.

Port Limitation Support
With this feature, administrators can limit the number of ports each of their customers and end point carriers may use.

Prefix Based Routing
This feature allows Carriers to define a tech-prefix for each client and set that tech-prefix in the dialing plan to a special carrier / route. The result will be routing the call based on the defined tech-prefix.

Priority Based Routing
This feature allows Carriers to define a priority for each entity in the dialing plan and IPsmarx routing engine will follow these priorities every time that it wants to send a call to an end-point carrier.

Unlimited End-Point Carrier Support
The IPsmarx softswitch allows administrators to define an unlimited number of end-point carriers in order to take advantage of the best price and quality the market has to offer. Fail-over is also included in the softswitch package to ensure that our carrier clients have the most reliable service offering.

Data Encryption for Critical Data Storage
Administrators and end users can rest assured that critical data  will be encrypted using complex encrypting methods such as RSA and MD-5.

Call Monitor
Administrators have access to the call monitor to view live calls any time. IPsmarx’ monitoring tool displays the name of the caller, call destination, type of service, rate, call duration, available talk time, codec being used, and any other information relevant to the call.

Online Back Up Tool
This feature allows administrators to make an online backup from the entire database and save it on an internal or external hard disk.

Automatic Email Notifications
Using this feature, administrators can customize email messages to be automatically sent to their customers. For example, a Pre-paid wholesale customer trigger limit can be created to inform the client when their balance goes below a certain threshold amount.

Unified Customer Management
By taking advantage of Unified Customer Management, carriers can offer any other VoIP service supported by IPsmarx, such as IP phone service, calling card, or IP-PBX using the same billing solution and management interface. End users can sign up for any of the services offered using one web interface, and receive one bill for their usage of various services. Administrators and End Users can also set usage limits for each service. For example, they can set one usage limit for calling card and another for wholesale.
