How to setup PSTN, T1 or E1?

There are two different solutions for your PSTN lines. You can purchase your T1 / E1 from a Telco (Telephone Company) or you can select on of the DID providers that will provide you a T1/E1 over IP.

If you are dealing with a T1/E1 which is provided by Telco, please ask your Telco to fill out the following form and then send it to IPsmarx. IPsmarx will configure your T1/E1 based on provided information.

T1 Setting Form (here is the link)

E1 Setting Form (here is the link)

If you are dealing with an IP-Based T1 or E1, please note that you need a small gateway before your VoIP gateway. This small gateway will convert SIP or H323 protocols to PSTN and will send it to Quintum or Cisco via a PSTN cross-over cable.

How to send all IP and Password information to IPsmarx?

Fill out the installation document and send it via e-mail to tech@ipsmarx.com .

Troubleshooting

How do I check if my calling card platform is working correctly?

1.) Call the access number.

If you hear the IVR (interactive Voice Message) go to step 2.  Otherwise reboot the VoIP Gateway.  If the problem persists send an email to tech@ipsmarx.com describing the problem.

 2.) Enter your PIN.

If the IVR message states "Please enter your destination" go to step 3.  Otherwise please restart RADIUS on the server (view instructions below).  If problem persists restart the entire server login and then restart RADIUS.  If problem still persists send an email to tech@ipsmarx.com describing the problem.

3.) Enter your destination number (country code + city code + phone number).

If the IVR message states the funds in the account and responds with the remaining minutes available for the destination go to step 4.  Otherwise check to make sure you have a buying rate for the destination entered.  If problem persists please send an email to tech@ipsmarx.com describing the problem.

4.) If you hear the phone ringing or have commenced a conversation, congratulations your calling card platform is fully functional.  Otherwise your endpoint carrier is not terminating the calls properly.  Please contact your endpoint carrier to resolve the problem.

The voice response is responding with "Your PIN is invalid" or "Your PIN is currently in use.  The is not true, what do I do?

1)    go to start menu

2)    select Run

3)    type “services.msc”

4)    select the first service which is “advanced RADIUS server”

5)    right click on it and select restart.

How do I update my antivirus software?

Please refer to your antivirus manual for update instructions.

  What is a card service?

This refers to a physical Calling Card.  You will be able to create PINs and distribute Cards to your resellers once you have printed them.

  What is a home service?

This refers to customers that can get authenticated based on their ANI or Caller-ID.  These clients do not require a PIN as they are automatically authenticated when calling from "home" or the phone number configured in their home service account.

How can I add a carrier and direct traffic to a different carrier in the event that you guys are updating your systems or otherwise?

This must be added in the Quintum's or Cisco's static routing table.  This is a service which will be provided to you by IPsmarx's engineers.  Please understand that this could be a chargeable service.

Can the sub-agent of a reseller create another agent?

NO, this is not possible.

Is the username and password case sensitive?

Yes, they are.

What is congestion in terms of Carrier?

Some routes in peak hours experience congestion due to the amount of traffic and interconnection of the endpoint carrier.  This congestion can cause poor quality, gaps in your conversation or even dropped calls.

What could be the possible reasons why none of the calls are going through?

1.)   Your end point's carriers account has run out of funds.

2.)   Your network is blocking VoIP Traffic.

3.)   Your bandwidth is too low or unstable.

What is invalid or wrong format?

When the phone number is not dial as follows CountryCode+CityCode+PhoneNumber

What is .csv and why do I need the rate table file in that file type?

This is an excel format file.  The IPsmarx softswitch needs this format to be able to upload the rate tables.

What bandwidth do I have to have to run my voip calls without problems?

Approximately 15 Kbps per call for a complete call including Media and signaling is needed.

  What does billing increment mean?

This refers to first period and next period.  First period time is the time that will be charged immediately after connection.  Next Period time will begin after the first period time is satisfied.  Therefore if the billing increment is 30/6, if a call is placed for 22 seconds it will be charged for 30 sends.  And, if a call is placed for 32 seconds it will be charged for 36 seconds.

Can I send simultaneous calls? Is there any limitation?

Yes you can send simultaneous calls.

You are only limited by the VoIP Gateway capacity.  One T1 line support 23 simultaneous calls whereas 1 E1 supports 29.
